It is pre-seasoned with vegetable oil and ready to use. After each use, simply lightly oil the inside of the pan with your oil of choice to maintain the non-stick surface.

While cast iron can be prone to rust, the Overmont Dutch Oven is designed to withstand the elements. If rust does occur, it can be easily removed by following the steps outlined in our manual or rust removal video. It's important to note that uneven thickness at the bottom of the pan is normal, as the center of the pan is where it gets the warmest during cooking.
